Hailing from Barrie, Ontario, Canadian crossover punk band Spades GT have been forging a name for themselves in both the punk and metal communities and setting themselves apart from their peers with thrilling live performances ever since the band’s inception in March 2022.
With a new album, Sewer City Radio, dropping this month, UPP-tone received an exclusive three-track preview and plugged in to see what to expect.

オンタリオ州バリー出身のカナダのクロスオーバーパンクバンドSpades GTは、2022年3月のバンド結成以来、パンクとメタルの両方のコミュニティでその名を馳せ、スリリングなライブパフォーマンスで同業者と一線を画してきました。

On “Hands,” Spades GT somehow manages the task of credibly combining the energy and bass-powered drive of Motorhead with all the quality hallmarks of Californian punk. Replete with vocals and melody that call to mind Bad Religion as well as Misfits-styled woah-ohing, the track is a rousing and powerful meditation on lost innocence and the hardening of the soul.

“Xs,” as the title suggests, is at once both a warning against the dangers of excess and an acknowledgment of the difficulty in resisting temptation within the music business. Although also present on “Hands” and “Red,” on this track Spades GT have injected a subtle and irresistible element of sleaze rock in the vein of latter-day Hanoi Rocks to create an infectious monster of a tune that could be the perfect anthem for the summer.
